Heffer joined Hilton Foods at its inception in 1994 as managing director of the group’s UK subsidiary and from 2012 to 2018 served as Hilton Foods’ chief operating officer. He was promoted to chief executive officer on 1 July 2018.
Under his leadership, Hilton Foods has continued to make progress against its vision of becoming the international protein partner of choice. In the past full financial year, the company grew its turnover by 50% to £2.7bn and operating profit by 19.6%. It acquired the UK’s Fairfax Meadow Europe and Dutch plant-based firm Dalco Foods in its latest half-year period.
Over the past year, the group has further strengthened its offer across each protein category (meat, fish, vegetarian, plant-based). It now supports blue chip retail partners across 14 European countries and in Australia and New Zealand.
